2013 was a good year for MEWI. MEWI had an increase in sales of 15 percent and inaugurated three new branches. 2014 they have introduced a new product, the TOPCON GPS guiding system. Furthermore MEWI will inaugurate another two branches, in Boltin Vale and Drajna. They also think about a branch in the centre of Romania.

MEWI was honoured to deliver 33 tractors to Insula Mare a Brailei, the biggest agricultural company in Romania and even in Europe.

Field demonstrations will take place in July, probably for a period of three weeks. There MEWI will present the new set of hybrid combines of Fendt and the new tractors Challenger with 660 hp.

With the slogan “the luck is for those who work hard” good things happened for the hard working company MEWI. MEWI inaugurated another branch in Valea lui Mihai and in Stoenesti (district Giurgiu). Every second year field demonstrations with agricultural machinery and equipment are done on which many farmers participated.

This year, 2015, MEWI fulfils 20 years of experience. The last four years MEWI expanded. Now they have seven own branches and other five of our dealers. If the last 5 years were analysed, MEWI had an increase in sales of 120%.

The Romanian market is situated in constant development but with only few big players. Only these are able to afford the best and expensive technique. Therefore the second hand machineries play a very important role.

AGCO oriented towards increasing the quality and energy efficiency

Mr. Bernhard Stocker, export manager of Fendt, confirmed that the most important thing in the production of agricultural equipment is to control the costs and increase the efficiency. With investments up to 300 million dollar the manufactory in Marktoberndorf (Germany) became the most modern in the world. This investment was necessary in order to improve efficiency and quality. Furthermore they invested very much in the development of new machinery.

In spite of the decreasing sales in many countries, in Romania sales continued to increase.

The trend in agricultural engineering will be to have agricultural machinery more efficient and less polluting. Probably in 20-30 years electric tractors will work in the field.

Latest trends of agricultural technique

Mr. Chistian Dănescu, General Director of MEWI, talks about the development of the agricultural technique. 10-12 years ago the farmers were interested to buy combines to gather the crop from the field and put it into barns. Then the tractor stage followed to satisfy power needs. Now the trend is to buy equipment for soil tillage and sowing, which either are missing or not up to date.

Nowadays the farmers need agricultural equipment which works behind the tractor and of course there will be another stage, where the equipment is not behind the tractor, like the sprayers, telehandlers and so on. But it has to be thought about that innovative improvements were not possible endlessly.
